How To Delay Feature Updates

Feature updates can be quite taxing on your data (if you’re on an capped internet bundle) because of all the great new features its brings Windows. Yeah it literally brings new features like it says.

It also takes quite some time to install them. Lets be real… ALL Windows updates does and it irks us, but we are grateful for updates, sometimes. So, if you don’t want to be bothered by featured updates, temporarily, follow these steps:

  1. Click on your settings. The easiest way is the Start Menu.
  1. Open “Updates and Security
  1. Head over to “Advanced Options
  1. Scroll down and you’ll find the Pause Updates section. Under that you’ll see a tab that will allow you disable feature updates. Click on it.
  1. Choose how many days you’d like to delay the updates.

And you’re all done!

Note:

If you want updates to resume normally just follow the steps and set the date to zero or wait until you reach the amount of days you set.

How To Delay Security Updates

The methods are basically the same as above, but I’ll put them down for you just in case:

  1. Click on your settings. Remember… the easiest way is the Start Menu.
  1. Open “Updates and Security
  1. Head over to “Advanced Options
  1. Scroll down and you’ll find the Pause Updates section. Under that you’ll see a tab that’ll allow you disable quality updates.
  1. Click that and choose how many days you’d like to delay the updates.

And you’re all done!

Note:

If you want updates to resume normally just follow the steps and set the date to zero or wait until you reach the amount of days you set.

How To Delay All Windows 10 Updates

Again quite similar, but again (yet again) I’ll put it down just in case.

  1. Click on your settings (easiest way is the Start Menu)
  1. Open “Updates and Security
  1. Head over to “Advanced Options
  1. Scroll down and you’ll find the Pause Updates section and under that you’ll see a “Pause Until” option.
  1. Click that and choose how many days you’d like to delay the updates.

Note:

If you want updates to resume normally just follow the steps and set the date to zero or wait until you reach the amount of days you set.

With that, you’ve found out how to disable each type of update (if only temporarily). If you’re looking to permanently disable Windows 10 updates then I’ll be putting that in another post, just for you guys and gals!

And if you just want to Optimise Windows 10 Updates to use less Bandwidth then head over to that post if you’d like
